When someone expresses their #vulnerability, to express #genuinecuriosity might be more than important and necessary than to express #empathy because “before demonstrating my understanding, I have to develop it.”
It means to inquire, be open, to listen and learn. It requires #humility. And that, almost always, leads to empathy which leads to #compassion.
#Beingcuriousaboutourselves is how we begin to know who we are. The hardest part is to #slowdown enough to actually #feel. From there, one can learn to tolerate oneself, even in one’s fears and insecurities.
